  • What is BOTOX?

    BOTOX® is a neurotoxin that is injected into muscles of the face to reduce or eliminate the appearance of unwanted lines. BOTOX® is FDA-approved. Aside from its cosmetic uses, BOTOX® is also effective as a medical treatment for migraines and hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating).

  • Does BOTOX work?

    BOTOX® is highly effective at reducing or eliminating the appearance of line lines of the forehead and face. Most people see results after just a few days, and those results last anywhere from 3-6 months.

  • How much BOTOX do I need?

    The amount of BOTOX® that is needed to achieve the desired effect varies slightly between people. At Mandel Dermatology, we always listen to each patient’s desired outcome, but also approach cosmetic treatments conservatively, since you can always do more, but cannot reverse the effects of the treatment immediately. Belotero – 6-8 months

    Juvederm Voluma – 8-12 months

    Restylane – 6-8 months months

    Bellafill – 5 years

  • Is BOTOX painful?

    BOTOX® injections are not generally painful, but the degree of comfort or discomfort varies from person to person and also depends on the area being injected. Most people describe mild discomfort that is only experienced briefly during injection. 

  • How much does BOTOX cost?

    The cost of BOTOX® ranges based on the number of areas being treated. Many practices charge by unit for BOTOX® but we choose to charge by area. This allows for more flexibility in your treatment so that you can achieve the desired result without excessive charges if you require more BOTOX® than expected. Another benefit of pricing by area is allowing our BOTOX® patients to evaluate the effects within the first 7-10 days after treatment, then revisit us for a complimentary touch up if their desired result was not achieved. BOTOX® ranges from $450-$900+ depending on the area(s) treated. Other factors that effect the price are whether or not you are a regular patient of Mandel Dermatology and have enrolled in our Reveal® Membership plan. Patients who enroll in our free membership can save $50-$150 on each BOTOX treatment.

  • Is BOTOX a filler?

    BOTOX® is not a filler like other cosmetic treatments such as Juvederm or Voluma. BOTOX® is a neurotoxin that works by effecting the muscle.
